Investigations by this publication have unearthed information to the effect that self-styled G40 presidential gimmick, Saviour Kasukuwere has targeted MDC members for recruitment into his #Tyson Wabantu movement dangling huge financial rewards to those that opt to cross the political divide.
A Bulawayo based MDC member who spoke to The Harare Post on condition of anonymity revealed to this publication that the movement stormed Bulawayo province last month in a bid to mobilise memberships through door to door campaigns.
“They approached me and tried to convince me to join them citing that the movement was being backed by leadership with financial muscles.
“They further cited that the resources for travelling across provinces were readily available to continue with the mobilisation programmes along with allowances,” said the source.
The same source further revealed that the movement is targeting frustrated members of the MDC National executive committee member Gift Banda led faction who form part of the rivalry faction against the MDC Bulawayo Provincial leadership.
He added, “We are also aware that the movement leadership in Bulawayo is meeting secretly with Banda and are targeting his faction members. Banda himself has been a close ally of Kasukuwere during his tenure as the Bulawayo deputy mayor.
“They stole stands together and it won’t amuse us to see Banda crossing over to this movement. Kasukuwere and Banda are just the same, they are just capitalists who do not have people at heart,” lamented the source.
#Tyson Wabantu movement has been on a recruitment drive across provinces and setting up structures ahead of the plans by Kasukuwere to bid to partake in the 2023 Presidential elections.
