First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa continues with her charity and philanthropic activities as the festive season gathers momentum.
Today she visited Chachacha, Mutemeri village in the Midlands Province where she gave the elderly an assortment of groceries. The groceries comprised of food items, among other basic goods needed by the elderly people.
The First Lady visited several households helping with washing dishes, cleaning houses, doing laundry and preparing meals. She baffled many when she cleaned Mbuya Ethas Mabope’s (86) house using cow dung as floor polish.
She also planted fruit trees at each homestead she visited.
Her show of love comes barely a week after she donated an assortment of food items to children and various old people’s homes countrywide through her Angel of Hope Foundation.
In June, the First Lady donated blankets and groceries worth thousands of dollars to the elderly people who included the spouses of the late national heroes at the Large City Hall in Bulawayo.
Addressing the gathering, Amai Mnangagwa pledged to take care of the elderly, saying they were a blessing to the nation and it was important for them to be taken care of at all times.
She assured the elderly people of better living conditions, saying the Government, through renewed economic policies, is working tirelessly to end the country’s financial challenges.
Only yesterday, the mother of the nation rolled out a safety awareness campaign and engaged drivers and the travelling public in an effort to reduce accidents this festive season.
