MDC circle of hooligans masquerading as vendors around Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House (MRTH) moot another move to retaliate against the police, The Harare post has learnt.
A party insider revealed to this publication that, following the death of an MDC marshal, Hilton Tamanjani who cloaked as a vendor around MRTH, MDC mobsters resolved to declare MRTH a ‘no go’ area for police officers and known Government security personnel.
“They even attacked a police officer (who is yet to be identified) this Saturday arguing that the police unlawfully arrested Tamanjani and assaulted him until he died in custody.
“When other police officers visited the area to clear off the hooligans, they too faced resistance from the violent hooligans and were also attacked, an incident which went chaotic at MRTH,” said the source.
Tamanjani who was a well-known vicious MDC mafia gang-leader was arrested this October for attacking a police officer in front of MRTH. He was arrested along with 11other MDC mafia who were hiding at the basement of Robinson House in Harare.
“The MDC marshals who are cloaked as vendors around MRTH have gone on record of harassing motorists, security officers and even suspected ZANU PF members who would have passed by MRTH”, lamented one security guard at a nearby building.
