Zimbabwe will soon benefit from 500 buses being manufactured in Belarus. On arrival the buses are expected to revamp the country’s public transport, the visiting Belarus Chief of Presidential Affairs General Colonel Victor Sheiman has said.
The 500 buses destined for Zimbabwe are expected to arrive soon this year after their production commences in October 2019.
Upon his arrival in Zimbabwe, Belarus Chief of Presidential Affairs General Colonel Victor Sheiman said his country had offered these buses for Zimbabwe to modernise its public transport.
Production of 500 buses offered to Zimbabwe to modernise its mass public transport starts next month, designs for the appropriate buses for Zimbabwean roads have since been sent to Belarus and engineers from both countries have since confirmed the technical task.
“Specialists from the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe confirmed the technical task for production of the buses. Now Belarusian engineers will now design those buses appropriate for Zimbabwe.
“In about a month or two, we will start producing the buses to enable us to deliver them to Zimbabwe soon. We will also discuss the financial scheme of supply of the buses,” said the Belarus Chief of Presidential Affairs.
Harare Post has learnt the visiting Belarus Chief of Presidential Affairs is currently in the country and shall be meeting President Emmerson Mnangagwa soon in Harare to discuss Belarus investment interests in the country.
