Politburo member and Hebert Chitepo School of Ideology Principal, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha has urged Zanu PF provincial executive members to focus more on economics so as to resonate with President Emmerson Mnangangwa`s mantra on ‘more economics less politics.’
Cde Machacha said this during a Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) held in Bindura during the weekend.
Since assuming office, President Mnangagwa has shifted the country`s foreign policy from focusing on the political towards the economic. The country`s foreign policy has been designed in such a way that aids Zimbabwe`s economic recovery, facilitates economic growth, creates employment and encourages a climate conducive to attracting investors into the country.
The President has also been preaching the Zimbabwe is Open for business mantra where government continues to create a conducive environment in which all investments will be secure and welcome in line with the mantra.
Addressing delegates at the PCC, Cde Machacha said members should be vigilant and maintain their visibility on the ground, urging them to be wary of detractors whose intention is to sabotage President Mnangagwa`s efforts to turn around the country`s economy.
Cde Machacha highlighted that provincial and district members from Mash Central will be screening Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating in their respective areas which do not add value to the Transitional Stabilisation Programme (TSP). Same alleged that the United States of America (USA) through its embassy is riding on the parallel market exchange rate to cause inflation and disrupt the economy.
Speaking during the same event, Zanu PF Mashonaland Central Chairman who is also ICT Minister, Cde Kazembe Kazembe acknowledged and applauded Government for various developmental projects it is spearheading across the country which include roads rehabilitation and dam construction.
Mashonaland Central War Veterans Chairperson Sam Parirenyatwa praised Zanu PF Youth League for their bold stance to fight corruption, adding that as war veterans they fully support the youths in that regard.
Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Minister, Monica Mavhunga said devolution was now a reality and is now only waiting for the synchronisation of the legal framework. She praised the Government over its efforts to cushion citizens through drought relief programmes and the ZUPCO facility revealing that more Zupco buses will be availed soon to service other rural and urban areas in need.
Minister Mavhunga warned party members to stop using social media to settle their differences and unnecessarily commenting on party issues.
She noted with concern the snubbing of the national clean up exercise by some party members urging them to complement President Mnangagwa`s efforts to keep the environment clean.
