MDC spearheading Zim protests.

MDC-T party spokesperson Linda Masarira said that MDC was demonstrating disguised in the name of other institutions to give an impression that pressure was being mounted President Emmerson Mnangagwa from different sectors.

These sentiments follows yesterday`s Law Society demonstration that saw the presence of Human Rights Lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere, Douglas Coltart among other MDC party members.

Masarira on her twitter page posted, “Can someone be in a position to tell the difference between Mwonzora the MDC official and Mwonzora the lawyer, Chamisa the MDC official and Welshman Ncube, Tendai Biti.”

Coltart who is a well-known MDC activist has appeared in several demonstrations that took place in Zimbabwe since late last year and early this year. He participated in the march by Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) from Mutare to Harare early this year. Coltart indicated that he was demonstrating in solidarity with teachers for a pay rise of rural teachers.

Posting on his twitter account yesterday about the lawyers marching, Coltart posted, “Zimbabwean lawyers marching to demand restoration of the rule of law, compliance with the constitution and respect of human rights.”

Some netizens responded that these violent demonstrations are being sponsored by opposition elements with regime change agenda as revealed by some protestors in court that they were promised money and residential stands by opposition officials.

Cyber troll Mfowethu Mlevi tweeted, “Protestors are the ones who revealed in court that they were promised USD $100 each and residential stands for carrying out terror attacks meant to discredit and give pressure to the ruling party and government.”

Harare Post has learnt that, Coltart`s presence in demonstrations has shown that he is supporting the work of his MDC masters and other pressure groups like Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) and ARTUZ.
