Matutu slams Malema

Zanu PF Youth Deputy Secretary, Lewis Matutu has castigated Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema for disrespecting Zanu PF party and Zimbabwe as a country.

Matutu said that Zanu PF and Zimbabwe deserved respect. This follows Malema`s continued negative utterances on Zimbabwe.

On his twitter account, Matutu posted, “It is critical for Economic Freedom Fighters South Africa, its leader Julius S Malema to understand that Zanu PF as a political organization and Zimbabwe as a country deserves some respect, comments about other countries need maturity and diplomacy especially when going against the elected Government.”

“Also Julius Malema call for the lifting of illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe is very much appreciated but he shouldn`t offload his bitterness against ANC (the party that brought political freedom to SA) on Zanu PF particularly our President Cde ED Mnangagwa,” said Matutu

“The Youth League respects other political organizations in and outside the borders of Zimbabwe particularly within the region, however, EFF South Africa particularly Julius Malema must understand that EFF is not an African opposition party but SA opposition party,” he said.

Malema had said that, “What is Zanu PF? Zanu PF is ANC. I don’t care about Zanu PF. I`m not married to Zanu PF. I have no relationship with Zanu PF, none whatsoever.”

Citizens also castigated Malema saying that he is not aware of what is happening in Zimbabwe.

Speaking to Harare Post today, a Government Official who refused to be named said, “Malema and some Diasporas are acting on hearsay. They do not know what they are saying. I think it is best for these people to come here in Zimbabwe and get to appreciate exactly what is happening.”

“Malema complains about the shutting of the Internet but he does not know the reason why it was shut. Property worth millions were destroyed by protestors. Shops were looted in the name of protesting,” he said.

Harare Post has learnt that social media was used to mobilise people for the violent demonstrations that caused the loss of five lives and damage to properties worth several millions of dollars. This led to the intervention of security to restore order.
