Citizens welcome dialogue

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been praised for calling for a national dialogue.

Netizens have come out openly supporting President Mnangagwa’s call for a national dialogue, suggesting that the talks will improve and stabilise the economic and political situation in the country.

One netizen Tendai Muchamaya @MuchamayaTendai lambasted Chamisa for setting conditions for the national dialogue.

He said, “Advocate I think in Zimbabwe everyone is free to express himself or herself. The challenge is we are abusing instead of building our nation, we are simply criticizing all the time, let’s offer solutions.”

Nelson Chamisa said the release of his supporters who were arrested for destroying properties in a violent demonstration that led to the loss of five lives was one of the conditions for a dialogue.

“Going forward, we must correct wrongs now. We call for an immediate end to the crackdown & terror that has induced insecurity across the country. We call for the unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience & political detainees whose rights continue to be violated,” he said.

Commenting on the issue of national dialogue, sacked former ZANU PF Member of Parliament for Mwenezi East Kudakwashe Bhasikiti discouraged the opposition from participating in the dialogue. Also to discourage the dialogue is self-exiled Professor Jonathan Moyo.

Engineer T Tavengwa‏ @Fourier31 said, “@edmnangagwa (President Mnangagwa) is the one in charge and has the powers to call for a national dialogue since he's the CEO of Zimbabwe. You have nothing to offer other than fanning hatred.”

Ashrun Empire @AshrunEmpire also said, “You should have respect for your leaders. The National Dialogue is the key!”

President Mnangagwa has for long, been saying that his doors are open for those who want dialogue. On the other side, Government detractors have not been accepting the fact that President Mnangagwa is the legitimate President of Zimbabwe.
