Zimbabwe Youth in Tourism (ZYIT) has encouraged students and youth associations to take up tourism to improve the quality of their lives thereby contributing to the development of the Country’s tourism sector to achieve the middle income economy, a ZYIT Chairman has said.
Recently in his statement, ZYIT Chairman, Raphael Jamu said his Organization was assisting students and youth associations in the tourism sector to be productive.
“ZYIT was formed to assist students and youth associations in tourism and environmental sectors in Zimbabwe. It encourages all activities that enhance the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of nature and the awareness of tourism and environmental problems.
“The Organization through promoting tourism is dedicated in improving the quality of life of youths and students by facilitating their participation in sustainable developmental matters,” said Jamu.
Jamu also said ZYIT was working with Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) to safe guard the natural heritage and open up investment opportunities for youths in the tourism sector.
“ZYIT is registered with Zimbabwe Youth Council and ZTA to coordinate, supervise and foster activities of youths who are in the environment and tourism sector through creating investment opportunities in the tourism sector and other business sectors in Zimbabwe,” said the ZYIT chairman.
Harare Post has learnt, ZYIT continues to work with Government to develop business initiatives for the youths which should in turn promote economic and social development in Zimbabwe towards achieving the middle income economy by 2030.
