MDC Presidential spokesperson Dr Nkululeko Sibanda has been heavily criticised by citizens who described him as an attention seeker after he tweeted a post on his twitter handle lambasting President Emmerson Mnangagwa for allegedly failing to maintain the country`s roads and failing to curb corruption.
Contrary to that, the citizens argue that the President has done a lot in rehabilitating both urban and rural roads and has also made notable efforts in bringing to book corrupt elements in the society regardless of political affiliation or race.
On his twitter handle Dr Sibanda tweeted, “Corruption sees President Mnangagwa, Zanu PF, his friends and kids drive stupidly expensive cars on broken roads. ED does not understand ethical leadership, Zimbabwe lost 15 billion to these people. Meanwhile President Chamisa spends on productivity, just have a look!”
One netizen, Knowl Moyo on his twitter handle responded, “Our President is doing a lot in terms of infrastructure development, roads are being constructed, try driving along the Harare- Mutare, Harare-Bulawayo, Masvingo- Beit bridge roads, you love attention.”
Responding to Dr Sibanda cyber troll Brighton Mushekwa exposed MDC member Tendai Biti’s ill gorten wealth which he allegedly accumulated during his term in the GNU. Mushekwa tweeted, “Biti properties include: Milton Park (2 762 square metres)Tsoko Lodge,Number 1 Shato Close, Juliasdalea, black Mercedes-Benz S350 (ADY 5606) aToyota Land Cruiser (ADI 2870)a white Ford Ranger (ADL 1761)Mercedes-Benz E300 (ADA 7481)a Mercedes-Benz E280 (ACY 5148) and many more.
George Rugare tweeted, “What is Chamisa driving? Honda Fit? How many cars does he have in his possession? Where is the Range Rover? Compare cars to cars; and farms to farms. That ill-conceived irrigation project will cause the local borehole to go dry. The rest of the villagers will have no water.”
Contrary to Dr Sibanda`s claims, the new political dispensation has prioritised the construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of roads and bridges throughout the country, with road authorities having to go on overdrive after receiving unprecedented budgetary allocations.
