Komichi urges CCC to uphold constitution

With a heavy heart, Komichi on his X account acknowledged the CCC's failings, attributing its downfall to a fundamental departure from constitutionalism.

“Opposition people fear to tell the truth to power.  MDC and CCC would not have collapsed if we had religiously respected and followed constitutionalism. We can make all noises by pointing fingers at each other, it will not help us,” wrote Komichi on his X account.

Komichi's words struck a chord with many opposition party members, who had witnessed the CCC's internal struggles and its increasingly confrontational approach to politics. He emphasized that a return to constitutionalism was essential for the CCC party.

Another MDC-T member known as Terence Marandi supported Komichi`s sentiments and urged their party to learn from the CCC`s mistake and respect the people.

"We must learn from the CCC's mistakes. We must uphold the constitution, respect the people, and embrace dialogue and compromise," urged Marandi.

Meanwhile, CCC interim secretary general, Sengezo Tshabangu recalled 19 Members of the House Assembly of that party indicating that this was provoked by the protest over how the opposition outfit was run, including concerns that some of the recalled candidates were imposed on the electorate. Tshabangu, who stated that the CCC had no constitution, promised his party that same was committed to commence preparation for congress in terms of the interim constitution of the party, beginning with the election of the branch committees.
