CCC  Chamisa fails to field some council candidates in the upcoming by-elections

This publication managed to interview a member of the CCC, on condition that he remains anonymous for security reasons, who revealed that CCC leadership has become desperate in its pursuit for candidates for Zvishavane Town Council Ward 4 and Tongogara Rural District Council Ward 22.

"The situation is dire. The CCC leadership is searching for suitable candidates in Zvishavane Town Council Ward 4 and Tongogara Rural District Council Ward 22, to represent the party in the upcoming by-elections, but their efforts have been in vain and no one seems willing to represent the party.   Members are hesitant to step forward fearing the potential consequences of representing a party in turmoil,” said the source.

According to the source, some CCC members have reached out to Amos Chibaya, the CCC Movement Mobiliser, to devise a strategy that will address the alarming shortage of candidates.

"CCC members are disgruntled and they're desperately looking for solutions from the leadership within the party. They have reached out to Amos Chibaya, the CCC Movement Mobilizer, to come up with a plan," said the source.

Furthermore, according to another source cracks are starting to appear within that party's loyalty base, with some members reportedly gravitating towards that party’s interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu, who recently wielded the power to recall 14 CCC Members of Parliament, as well as 17 CCC Councillors.

“The lack of candidates in these by-elections is a glaring indication of CCC's internal strife. Adding to its troubles, some members are beginning to question their loyalty to the party, particularly in light of Sengezo Tshabangu's recent decision to recall CCC Members of Parliament. This recent development is causing fractures within the party, further weakening its ability to navigate the upcoming by-elections successfully,” said the source.
