Chamisa to recall CCC Harare Provincial Councillors

A source close to the matter has revealed that Chamisa did not endorse the candidature of the said councillors, asserting that their positions are now at risk.

According to the insider, “Chamisa is deeply dissatisfied with how the selection process was conducted. He believes that the councillors in question bypassed his authority and resisted his directive to voluntarily resign from their positions. This has left him with no choice but to initiate a recall to reassert his leadership and take control of the situation.”

The source added that Chamisa’s bold move is expected to be executed just three days after the councillors' official swearing-in ceremony, creating a whirlwind of uncertainty within the party ranks.

The source further disclosed, “The timing is crucial here. Chamisa wants to send a clear message that he is in charge and that any form of dissent will not be tolerated. The recall will happen swiftly to quell any potential resistance and to maintain order within the party.”

It is believed that Chamisa’s ultimate goal is to replace the current Harare Provincial Councillors with individuals who are staunchly loyal to him.

Names being floated as potential replacements include Eric Murai, Costa Machingauta, Peter Marange, and Rangarirai Mutingwende.

“Chamisa is adamant about cleaning the house. He didn’t approve the initial list of councillors, and he is determined to install individuals whom he can trust to uphold his vision for the party,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the absence of substantive party structures has left a power vacuum, leading to internal strife and confrontations. Party insiders are concerned that this internal turmoil could weaken the CCC’s position and hinder its ability to effectively challenge its political rivals.
