CCC factional rifts escalate ….as recalling of legislators ensues

An insider source  revealed that Sengezo Tshabangu, a figure with a history in the MDC and CCC has taken centre stage in the party’s on-going leadership wrangles.

“Tshabangu, positioning himself as the interim Secretary-General of CCC, has attempted to wield his authority by issuing recall letters for CCC Members of Parliament (MPs) and councillors. His actions, however, have laid bare the factional divisions that have been simmering within for some time.

“There are significant concerns within the CCC regarding Chamisa's leadership. Some members feel that there is need for change at the party’s top leadership, and this dispute is indicative of those deep-seated tensions,” the source disclosed.

The source further highlighted that the fissures had intensified with Tshabangu's faction backing his claim to the Secretary-General role, while Gift Ostalos Siziba, the CCC Deputy Spokesperson vehemently rejecting the validity of Tshabangu's recall letters. Siziba's faction seems to align more closely with Chamisa's leadership, further highlighting the schism within CCC.

Another source within the party, told this publication on condition of anonymity, echoeing the sentiment of internal divisions, that, "There is a growing faction that questions Chamisa's leadership abilities, and it's creating a rift within the party, the continuous tug-of-war over the leadership position has created a cloud of uncertainty over Chamisa’s tenure as leader of our party.”

Moreover, that Tshabangu's faction has presented a party constitution, while Siziba's faction has not disclosed theirs to the public, adds another layer of complexity to the already convoluted situation. This lack of transparency only fuels suspicions of a factional power struggle behind the scenes.

The CCC's internal turmoil is far from being resolved. This dispute has exposed deep-seated divisions within, and the growing silence from Chamisa's end suggests that CCC might be on a downward trajectory, with an internal storm brewing that could further weaken its standing in the political landscape.
