Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) co-Vice President, Tendai Biti has admitted that the lack of structures in that party would affect its performance in the forthcoming elections.
A highly placed source in CCC highlighted that Biti has acknowledged that CCC would lose the elections dismally due to lack of structures and the authoritarian leadership in their leader, Nelson Chamisa.
“Biti stated that Chamisa had personalized their party and this has resulted in a structureless party. Biti is certain that CCC will never win the election and is advising the party to correct their errors after the election,” said the source.
The source also revealed that Biti disclosed that CCC cannot defend the reason why that party’s candidates filed their nomination papers after 1600 hours on Nomination Court sitting, on 21 June 2023.
“Some of our senior leaders within the CCC are pointing fingers at our leader for causing the candidates to submit their nomination papers late at the Nomination Court on 21 June 2023. They are criticizing the chaotic candidate selection process that Chamisa presided over, which saw some candidates knowing on the day of nomination that they had been selected”.
Meanwhile, the party supporters have bemoaned Chamisa’s dictatorial tendencies and are threatening to withhold their vote against that party in the forthcoming elections.
