Addressing at the 364th ordinary session of the politburo yesterday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that the Second Republic`s economic policies were bearing fruits.
“The work ethic of the Second Republic, which has made sure that all provinces and districts of our country have visible completed projects, is bearing fruit. Similarly, our policies, across all sectors of the economy are positively impacting our people. In all our activities, we are delivering on the promises we made in the 2018 Election Manifesto,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa encouraged Party structures to enforce strategies to publicize the success of economic policies.
“I challenge the Party structures, ward by ward, to deploy robust strategies to publicize the success of our policies, right at the community level.
“The Party should take the lead in this regard, so that our people appreciate the visible strides the Party is making in growing the economy and enhancing livelihoods,” reiterated President Mnangagwa.
The President outlined some of the projects that he had commissioned to date.
“Since our last Session, I have commissioned a number of high impact and people centered projects. These include the Murewa Registry Department Office, Radnor Mine, Bikita Minerals Lithium Project, Mount Meru Oil Manufacturing Factory in Mahusekwa and the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Agro-Industrial Park,” said President Mnangagwa.
He added that the programme of drilling boreholes at every village will empower villagers in ensuring food security within their communities.
“Other programmes such as the borehole drilling programme which will see every village having a borehole and community garden has begun in earnest.
“The support and thorough planning by my Government has seen our farmers across the country, planting an unprecedented total hectarage, for the winter wheat crop. This will see us attaining about 13 months cover for wheat. Our farmers are congratulated for this support,” said President Mnangagwa.
In the same vein, the success of the implementation of developmental projects by the Second Republic fulfills the economic blue print NDS1 in a bid to attain an upper middle income economy by 2030.
