Mayor of Harare appeals for assistance

…..to avert garbage and refuse crisis

The  Acting Mayor of Harare City Council has appealed for assistance from the corporate world and  Government of Zimbabwe, amid a crisis of uncollected garbage and damaged roads.

Speaking during a press statement today at Town House, the Acting Mayor Musarurwa Mutizwa appealed for garbage collection assistance, a situation that exposes the City Authorities of gross incompetence.

The City Fathers’ lack of competence has further been exposed by Mayor Mutizwa as he attributed the garbage collection crisis to the 15 refuse trucks that were bought a few years back and are yet to be delivered.

In his presser, the Mayor further declared that vision 2025 is still feasible.  Vision 2025 entails the transformation of Harare City into a world class city by 2025, albeit with the assistance of other stakeholders.  This is a clear declaration that the City Fathers have failed to manage the affairs of Harare on their own as Mayor Mutizwa ropes in community participation and labelling it the panacea to achieving the vision.

Meanwhile, in a suspected attempt to wrestle the MDC Alliance leadership from Nelson Chamisa, Jacob Ngarivhume has gone into a one man cleaning overdrive as he tours the city and its suburbs blaming the MDC Alliance for its incompetence.

“Resident has an interesting take on wearing masks for COVID-19 prevention while living with streams of sewage in their community. City of Harare needs an emergency plan ASAP to address the situation,” posted Ngarivhume on his Twitter handle.

Government is on record rehabilitating the city’s roads after they had become an eyesore following the City of Harare’s incompetence.
