First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa continued with her crusade of spreading love and assisting the needy by hosting a belated Christmas party for the elderly at Dudley Hall in Norton, today.
The First Lady was accompanied by the minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, Mary Mliswa and Norton legislator, Themba Mliswa.
Amai Mnangagwa brought smiles to the geriatrics in Norton by distributing blankets and groceries to the elderly.
Before distributing groceries, the First Lady had taken time to clean homes and prepare meals which she shared with the elderly, showing her other side of humility.
Her first port of call in Norton was at Mbuya Agnes Amos homestead where she, together with Minister Mliswa, took time to wash clothes of Mbuya Amos. The gesture was interpreted by Gogo Amos as a greatest show of humility by the First Lady.
Amai also took time to pay her condolences to one of the elderly woman, Gogo Masukanene, who died in the wee hours of this morning. She expressed her sorrow on the passing on of Gogo Musakanene who had been listed as one of the beneficiaries of Amai Mnangagwa’s programme
The interaction between the First Lady and the elderly at Dudley Hall was punctuated with jokes and motherly teachings.
She told the elderly to envy a clean environment and urged them to uphold the culture of love and unity.
The visit by Amai Mnangagwa was in fulfilment of her vow she made last month in Chachacha that she would be visiting the elderly in different provinces to interact and assist them where possible.
