Professor  Ndlovu laid to rest

The late Zanu PF Chairman for Bulawayo Province and member of the Central Committee, Professor Callistus Ndlovu was laid to rest on Saturday at National Heroes Acre.

Addressing mourners at the National Heroes Acre, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that Professor Ndlovu was a peacemaker and a unifier who abide by the rules and regulations of the party.

“A disciplined and hardworking leader within the Party, the late Cde Ndlovu had a sound and clear understanding of the Party`s rules, regulations and ethos. The principles of the Party were always his beacon and he never decided matters to please personalities or one group against the other. He was a unifier and a peacemaker,” said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa urged everyone present to emulate the late Professor Ndlovu.

He said, “I exhort us all to take a leaf from the illustrious life of Professor Callistus Ndlovu who diligently served his country. Let us emulate the humility and down to earth, easily accessible and always ready to assist character of our departed national hero.”

The late Professor Ndlovu was born on the 9th of February, 1936, in Thekwane, Plumtree to Thomas Ndlovu and Manginye Ndlovu. He served as Minister of Construction between 1982 and 1983 after which he was moved to the Ministry of Mines where he served as Minister from 1983 to 1984.

At the time of his death, he was the Zanu PF Chairman for Bulawayo Province and a member of the Central Committee.
