ZANU PF Mt. Darwin District Coordinating Committee (DCC) Chairman, Cde Kudakwashe Mupamhanga, has urged leaders across the district to champion unity as a foundation for sustainable development.

Speaking during a recent inter-district meeting held at Mutwa Primary School in Mt. Darwin West, Cde Mupamhanga emphasised the importance of collective effort in transforming the livelihoods of the people in the district.

Cde Mupamhanga, who is leading the charge for the #OneDarwinPolicy, highlighted that the district’s four constituencies must work together to ensure steady progress in key development areas.

“Our district can only thrive when we set aside political differences and focus on development. The #OneDarwinPolicy is a call for unity among all leaders and residents of Mt. Darwin. When we move as one, we achieve more,” said Cde Mupamhanga.

Cde Mupamhanga pointed to ongoing developmental projects aimed at improving livelihoods, including solarised borehole installations, women’s cloth-making mini-industries, nutritional gardens, and the disbursement of youth and war veterans' funds.

He emphasised that these initiatives require a united effort to ensure they reach all corners of the district.

“Challenges exist, but they are being tackled head-on. Through Government-led initiatives, we have brought clean water closer to communities, empowered women with income-generating projects, and ensured that our youths and war veterans benefit from structured financial support. However, real transformation comes when we all pull in the same direction,” added Cde Mupamhanga.

Cde Mupamhanga also expressed his appreciation for President Mnangagwa’s leadership in fostering development in Mt. Darwin, acknowledging the various empowerment projects initiated under the Government’s economic recovery agenda.

“We are grateful to President Mnangagwa for his unwavering commitment to uplifting Mt. Darwin. His administration has rolled out life-changing projects that are improving the livelihoods of our people. It is now our duty as leaders to make sure these initiatives are implemented successfully at the grassroots level,” Cde Mupamhanga said.

A ZANU PF member from Matepatepa Village who attended the meeting, Justin Goora, commended Cde Mupamhanga’s call for unity, describing it as essential for Mt. Darwin’s continued development.

He praised the district’s legislators for working tirelessly to improve the well-being of the people, in line with President Mnangagwa’s vision of achieving an upper middle-income economy by 2030.

“The message of unity is powerful. Mt. Darwin is not just talking about development—we are making it happen. From water provision to youth empowerment, real work is being done. As long as we remain united, our district will continue to progress and set an example for others,” said Cde Goora.

With development efforts already in motion, the call for unity under the #OneDarwinPolicy is expected to strengthen Mt. Darwin’s progress, ensuring a brighter future for all residents.
