Government has reaffirmed its dedication to implementing pro-people policies aimed at addressing socio-economic concerns and fostering inclusive development.
Acting President, Colonel (Retired) Kembo Mohadi, highlighted these initiatives in a recent interview with the media, emphasizing progress in agriculture, healthcare, and national unity.
One key area of focus is revolutionizing the agricultural sector to unlock dead capital. Acting President Mohadi revealed that a 2024 land policy proposal aims to grant indigenous farmers direct ownership of their land.
“This will allow farmers to use their land as collateral for loans or sell it for investment, unlocking significant dead capital for the country,” he explained.
In the health sector, the Government has prioritized improving social services. Cancer machines were procured for Parirenyatwa and Mpilo hospitals, while village health workers were equipped with diagnostic tools to screen for basic conditions.
“These advancements ensure that even rural communities benefit from quality healthcare,” he explained.
The Second Republic has also focused on fostering unity and addressing historical grievances. The Gukurahundi Community Engagement Outreach, launched by President Mnangagwa, seeks to resolve issues stemming from past disturbances.
“As a nation, we have remained united. Any divisions are largely exaggerated by the media,” the Acting President stated.
In the region, Zimbabwe has continued to assert its leadership capabilities, as Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), by promoting both local and regional integration.
Furthermore, Government remains steadfast in its commitment to peace and sustainable development, which underpin its broader goals for the country.
These initiatives reflect the Government’s vision of inclusive development, aiming to uplift citizens across all sectors and drive Zimbabwe forward.
