Zimbabweans have applauded President Emmerson Mnangagwa for setting up a cabinet with a mixture of experienced, skilled, youthful and trusted leaders which they hope will work hard to help the president in the attainment of making Zimbabwe a middle class economy by 2030.
“To me President Mnangagwa did what I had hoped for, it’s one of the best cabinets since independence in terms of technocrats where the likes of professor Amon Murwira and professor Paul Mavhima among others were retained. There is also an inclusion of minorities where we have two whites and an Indian. There was also an element of age balance where youths like Kirsty Coventry and Vangelis Haritatos were included,” said Tinotenda Shava, a Harare resident.
Soon after the appointments, President Mnangagwa on his twitter page posted that, “Today, as promised, I appointed a diverse, dynamic, youthful and streamlined cabinet with the skills and experience required to achieve our goals. Now it is time to get to work!” His tweet invited a lot of positive comments where social media users concluded that the appointments were fair and just.
Some netizens were happy that women were also given powerful Ministries.
