The private sector continues to complement Government efforts in constructing sustainable infrastructure, with Mbare being the latest beneficiary through the development of a new business complex that will house at least 150 business units.

The construction of the business complex, which is at an advanced stage, signals a promising future for small businesses in the area. This initiative aims to provide a robust infrastructure that supports the growth and development of local enterprises.

In an interview, Mbare Member of Parliament, Martin Matinyanya emphasized that the new business complex project is spearheaded by JB Family Enterprise a company owned by youths from Mbare.

“The complex was characterized by shabby shops and poor infrastructure. Because we want to see our home, which is also a business hub, develop, we decided it was high time we construct sustainable infrastructure.

"In line with Vision 2030 and youth empowerment, the significance of local youth involvement, contribute towards the Government's development agenda and turn the fate of Mbare into an upper-middle-income business community,” said Cde Matinyanya.

A Mbare resident, Tendai Munetsi highlighted that there is now hope that businesses will operate smoothly.

"For the longest time, this place had shabby buildings, and no one would take a business person seriously if they did not operate from a proper place.

"Apart from business, we are happy that the area is going to have a facelift. Mbare is poised for change. This makes us happy even as residents because we will have proper places to purchase goods and services," said Munetsi.

JB Family Enterprise Managing Director, Lovemore Mangezi confirmed that the construction works were progressing well with completion expected in two weeks.

"Works are progressing well, and by next week we will be done. The complex will house 150 units. We are working day and night to ensure we complete on time,” said Mangezi.

As Mbare prepares to welcome its new business complex, the community anticipates a significant boost in local commerce and a substantial improvement in the area's overall aesthetic and functional appeal.

This development is not only a milestone for the business community but also a symbol of hope and progress for the residents of Mbare.
