Member of Parliament (MP) for Murehwa West, Farai Jere has outlined his development plans for his constituency, the Harare Post can report.

According to MP Jere, the development plans include, rural electrification, installation of running water at household level, construction of more schools as well as intensive road rehabilitation.

In an interview with Harare Post at Sanganai, Mbuwi District in Murehwa during ZANU PF’s celebration yesterday, Hon Jere said, “The plans we have are a fulfillment made to the electorate during the campaign period.”

“As the MP for Murehwa West, there are various developmental initiatives that I promised the people, like the electrification of 'KwaMwanza' area and the installation of running water in their households.

“We have already installed running water at Musami growth point and we are expanding the implementation to nearby areas,” said Jere.

The MP highlighted the limited number of high schools against primary schools in the constituency.

“We have a big gap in terms of secondary education; we have so many primary schools which are not supported by secondary schools in this area. I made an inquiry with Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and they requested me as the MP to write to the Ministry.

“Government has a policy that demands a secondary school where there are three primary schools.  Pupils walk long distances for A' Level education, so that gap needs to be closed within the next 5years,” MP Jere added.

In addition Ward 12 Councillor, Kondwakuyenda Magaya informed that MP Jere had brought trucks to help with the construction of roads and that they have a cordial working relationship.

“MP Jere is an exceptional MP whose thrust is to make things work. We have a road that goes to Nherera that was destroyed by rain, the MP brought trucks to carry gravel to reconstruct the road. We are doing various development initiatives at schools and clinics to fulfill our promise to the people,” added Magaya.

Furthermore, in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa's vision of propelling Zimbabwe towards an upper-middle income society by ensuring inclusivity for all, the MP Jere’s current endeavors stand as a testament to this collective aspiration. He is actively contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of communities, leaving no one and no place behind. By fostering an environment of opportunity and sustainable development.
