Government has approved 182 projects for its first 100-day cycle projects for 2024, whose focus is the improvement of the livelihoods of citizens in all communities in line with the aspirations of Vision 2030.
Speaking during yesterday’s post-Cabinet briefing in Harare, Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere, said the projects were distributed according to the 14 thematic areas of the National Development Strategy 1 which ends in 2025.
"The projects were selected according to their potential contribution to the aspirations of Vision 2030, focusing primarily on the improvement of the livelihoods of citizens in all communities," he said.
Minister Muswere highlighted the significance of infrastructure in fostering socio-economic development, with 41 projects dedicated to activities such as road construction and rehabilitation, as well as the establishment of additional classrooms and clinics.
"It is imperative that we prioritise projects that directly impact the lives of our citizens and propel us towards our national development goals. These initiatives underpin the commitment of the Second Republic to deliver equitable and quality services that transform livelihoods across the country," remarked Minister Muswere during the briefing.
Acknowledging the importance of internal monitoring, Minister Muswere emphasised the implementation of a regular tracking schedule by respective ministries to ensure accountability and progress tracking.
Additionally, the minister noted that site visits to selected projects would be conducted to validate progress and ensure transparency.
"The Government remains steadfast in its dedication to driving tangible progress and fostering inclusive development for all Zimbabweans. Through collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives, we aim to realise the vision of a prosperous and thriving nation by 2030," Minister Muswere affirmed.
As the nation enters this pivotal 100-day cycle, expectations are high for the successful implementation of these projects, poised to catalyse meaningful change and propel Zimbabwe towards a brighter future.
As the Government continues to implement strategic projects and policies, citizens can anticipate tangible improvements in various sectors, ultimately contributing to the realisation of Vision 2030.
