During the last days of his life, the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai warned that a structure-less democratic alternative would not stand a chance against the ruling ZANU PF party in any serious election, former CCC Youth Chairman, Tererai Sithole has disclosed.
The disclosure is contained in Sithole’s message posted on his X blog in remembrance of the late opposition leader who died on this day in 2018.
The revelation come in the backdrop of Nelson Chamisa walking into the 2023 general elections, which he lost to ZANU PF, while leading a structure-less movement.
Sithole joins a growing list of the high profile opposition leaders who have come out guns blazing against the opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa’s continued “Strategic Ambiguity”, whose epicentre is a structure-less movement.
Some in the opposition are of the conviction that Tsvangirai gave the advice with Chamisa in his mind.
“On this day in 2018, we were robbed of a great fighter on whose selfless deeds we continue to draw inspiration. In his last days, he (Tsvangirai) advised that for the alternative to be a viable vehicle, it required 4 solid aspects, namely culture, structure, infrastructure and strategy,” wrote Sithole.
