Tshabangu considers reversing some recalls

In a twist of political intrigue, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu found himself caught between loyalty and the growing dissent within his party opting to reverse some of the recalls.

Speaking to an insider on the condition of anonymity, the source revealed to this publication that desperate CCC legislators are offering bribes to the interim secretary general to reconsider some of the recalled members for by election candidacy.

The source highlighted that among those fingered in the bribery storm were Ruwa constituency legislator Thomas Muwodzeri, who is said to have offered undisclosed amount to Tshabangu to stay in parliament together with CCC deputy spokesperson, Gift Ostalos Siziba. Another CCC key figure in Pelandaba-Tshabalala constituency is said to have offered Tshabangu with two residential stands at Burnside neighborhood in Bulawayo.

This came to light when Siziba assured the residents and party supporters that his face will be on the ballot paper and will be standing again under the opposition ticket in the February by-elections.

The dance for power became a delicate balancing act for Tshabangu who is now torn between loyalty to his party and the mounting influence of those seeking to use bribery for political recognition. The political stage was set for a high stakes drama, as CCC navigates the murky waters of internal strife and external pressures.

Meanwhile, CCC leader Nelson Chamisa and his loyalist CCC Director in the Organising Department, Farai Chinobva peddled falsehoods to keep supporters’ hope by assuring them of perceived plans for a Government of National Unity (GNU).
