The Government has been applauded for offering great support to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) by timeously disbursing funds and technical support to ease the financial constraints which have led to an effective justice delivery system.
In an interview with this publication political analys, Calvin Chitsunge applauded the Second Republic for supporting the judiciary in order to promote competence and quality of service to enhance public confidence in the justice delivery system.
“Kudos to the Government for its commendable efforts in bolstering our justice delivery system! The positive strides in enhancing the conditions of service for the JSC are truly noteworthy. The allocation of significant funding from the Treasury for crucial projects of the JSC, including the construction of court buildings nationwide, reflects a commitment to a robust legal infrastructure.
“A standout example is the completion and inauguration of the Epworth Magistrates Court, a milestone achieved with the support of Government initiatives. President Emmerson Mnangagwa's official opening of the court last March underscored the significance of this project. The newly constructed facility boasts essential features such as two courtrooms, a cell block, modern ablution facilities, a witness shed, and even onsite boreholes to ensure self-sufficiency,” said Chitsunge.
Another political analyst, Nobleman Runyanga commended the 2nd Republic’s dedication in not leaving behind important independent commissions of the Government such as the JSC, which supports the judiciary in entrenching constitutionalism.
“Truly the Government of Zimbabwe is not leaving anyone behind in developing the nation. These developments not only contribute to the efficiency of our justice system but also signifies a commitment to accessible and improved legal services for our citizens. It is heartening to witness tangible investments in the judiciary, ensuring that justice is delivered effectively and efficiently. This proactive approach is a testament to the Government's dedication to advance our legal infrastructure and, consequently, foster a fair and equitable society."
Meanwhile, in further creating a Zimbabwe in which world class justice system prevails, the Second Republic guided by President Mnangagwa is constructing court houses which are at different stages of completion at Mutawatawa, Chiredzi, Gwanda and Cowdray Park in Bulawayo.
