The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has received widespread praise from citizens for its prompt restoration of electricity to normalcy following the repair of Hwange 7 and 4 units.
One citizen Chenai Mariyacha applauded ZESA indicating that it was a noble move of repairing Hwange 7 and 4 units because the erratic power supply which were being experienced by the nation for over two months was causing significant disruptions to businesses, industries, and daily life.
"I'm so happy that the power is back on. It's been a tough few months without it. Thank you ZESA for your hard work in getting things back to normal."
One businessman only known as James Manyaya has welcomed the repair of Hwange Unit 7 and 4 stating that businesses which had been struggling to operate efficiently due to the frequent power cuts can now operate efficiently.
"The return to stable electricity is a positive development for the business community. Reliable power supply is essential for businesses to operate effectively and contribute to the country's economic growth," said Manyaya.
Another citizen who works in the Ministry of Finance and Investment Promotion Jane Thomas has commended the Government highlighting that she appreciates it for acknowledging the challenges faced by the power utility.
"We appreciate the hard work of government of acknowledging the effects of power shortages,” she said.
Meanwhile,the Hwange Thermal Power Stations` Unit 7 and Unit 4 started feeding into the national grid after the maintenance was completed yesterday.Unit 7 added 300 megawatts (MW) while Unit 4 added 100 MW to the national grid. Overall, the two units combined now feeds 400MW.
