The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members are on a retributive mission following their loss in the just ended Harmonised General Election.

In pursuit of that mission, six CCC members led by Simbarashe Kunaka attacked two Zanu PF members, Maxwell Mavhunga and Logies Mavhunga on 27 August 2023 in Dzanga village, Goromonzi Rural District Council (RDC) ward 18 in Murewa West constituency.

A source who spoke to this publication revealed that Kunaka and five other unidentified accomplices approached Zanu PF member, Maxwel and Logies Mavhunga at Mavhunga Grinding Mill in ward 18.The source stated that the six CCC members shouted at Kunaka highlighting that their party Zanu PF had rigged the polls.

“The CCC is failing to concede defeat. It is a shame that its supporters have now resorted to attacking Zanu PF members because it won the impending Harmonised General Elections. On 27 August, a day after the election results were announced, one CCC activist, Simbarashe Kunaka who was in the company of five unidentified CCC members approached two Zanu PF members, Maxwell Mavhunga and Logies Mavhunga at Mavhunga Grinding Mill in ward 18.

“The six members started shouting at the two Zanu PF members indicating that Zanu PF rigged the polls. As a result of that argument, Maxwell was axed on his head. As I speak right now, Maxwell is battling for his life at St Paul`s Musami Hospital,” narrated the source.

Meanwhile, the CCC has been in overdrive instigating violence across the country following its defeat in the just ended Harmonised General Elections. In a recent incident, the CCC members were involved in a suspected arson attack on ZANU PF Bandakamwe Chairlady, Esther Manyisa`s kitchen hut in Chitsa village ward 11, Murewa West constituency.
