Zanu PF National Spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa has called Former Vice President of the Republic of Zambia and Head of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) Dr. Nevers Mumba to order following the former`s statement which attacked the electoral process.
In a statement yesterday, Mutsvangwa indicated that, “We will not be taught democracy by any foreign nation especially those hostile to us. A certain head of delegation from a certain SADC country decided to delve into matters that doesn`t concern him. We call Mr Mumba to order, he favours ZESN and went on to castigate FAZ,” said Mutsvangwa.
Mutsvangwa explained that Zimbabwe is a sovereign State and that it cannot be challenged by Western puppets.
“Our original training came from Zambia and Tanzania. Mr Mumba should go and read the history of this country. It’s not your duty to be a constitutional making body of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a sovereign state and can`t be challenged by those who harbor western interests. The Zimbabwe state is sacrosanct and we fear no state,” he said.
Mutsvangwa further warned Mumba against abusing his role as the head of the SEOM to meddle into the electoral processes which are a prerogative of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
“Mr Mumba abused his role as the head of the SADC observer mission. We await the outcome of the election. It is the role of ZEC to run our elections and we as ZANU PF will not interfere. The winner in this election is the Zimbabwean people. They value their vote,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zanu PF Director for Information and Publicity,Farai Marapira, has highlighted that Mumba was on record working with opposition political parties. He indicated that Mumba was a man of dubious character who got fired from the Vice Presidency of Zambia about 20 years ago. He further highlighted that Mumba was arrested in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), three years ago for meddling in that country`s internal affairs.
Political analysts have affirmed that Mumba was a political activist masquerading as an electoral observer.
