Pres. Mnangagwa receives blessings from Nehemiah Mutendi for the upcoming elections

Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi, has given President Emmerson Mnangagwa his blessings to proceed contesting in the upcoming 2023 Harmonised General Elections.

Addressing multitudes of ZCC church members who gathered to commemorate the death of the church's founder, Reverend Samuel Mutendi at Defe Dopota Gokwe South, Bishop Nehemiah, the now leader of the church, said he  was satisfied with the progress that President Mnangagwa had made in his first term of office, and that he was the best person to lead the country into the future.

"We have seen the good work that President Mnangagwa has done in his first term. He has stabilized the economy, restored peace and unity. He is the best person to continue leading Zimbabwe. Revolution yeParty yedu needs to finish what it started. Vanofana kupfurira mberi,” said Bishop Mutendi

Additionally, the Bishop said the church would support President Mnangagwa's campaign in the upcoming elections. He urged all ZCC members to vote for the President and to defend the country's heritage.

"Don’t forget the slavery you underwent  or even that which emancipated you. Never never, leave the revolution. Musafa makafarisa. When you vote, right vote is important. Seek God when you are confused, be careful not to surrender to the wrong people muchisiya chamakabata.

“We must defend our heritage in the upcoming elections. The fallen heroes fought for this country and we must not let their sacrifices go in vain. We must vote for a leader who will protect our land, our culture, and our way of life and that man is President Mnangagwa,” said Bishop Mutendi.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa also addressed the church and called for the maintenance of peace and unity in  the upcoming elections emphasizing that for a country to be successful, it needs to have peace.
