CCC in disarray

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party is reportedly in a state of complete disarray as some members were distancing themselves from the candidate selection process while some nominated candidates were declining the nomination.

A source who spoke to this publication expressed that CCC members had lost trust in that party as they continue to accuse its leadership of lacking political vision. Some CCC members were allegedly predicting CCC’s heavy defeat in the forthcoming elections which are slated for August this year.

“CCC is in disarray as some members have shunned the candidate selection process saying that the exercise was not transparent. To make matters worse, some nominated candidates are declining the offer as they anticipate the party’s defeat in the forthcoming elections,” said the source.

The source also added that some members were getting tired of Nelson Chamisa’s claims that CCC would not have structures to insulate it from alleged ZANU PF infiltration.

“Members want the party to have structures. They are not in agreement with Chamisa’s claims that party structures would give room to ZANU PF to infiltrate the party,” added the source.

According to the source, Bulawayo lawyer, Sindiso Mazibisa who declined CCC nomination is contemplating standing as an independent candidate in Magwegwe-Lobengula constituency. The source said that Mazibisa argued that he couldn’t associate with a structure-less party like CCC that operates on the directions and instructions of one man.

Meanwhile, results of CCC candidate selection process are yet to be made public with reports saying that Chamisa was heavily interfering with that process in order to impose his cronies.
