Aspiring ZANU PF candidate for Epworth South constituency, Cde Taedzwa Mutana,
has implored people of that constituency to be tolerant and avoid violence as the country prepares to hold Harmonised General Elections.
In an interview with this publication yesterday, Cde Mutana said that he felt humbled by the trust bestowed upon him by ZANU PF members in Epworth South and said that he was ready to deliver the seat to the Party in this year’s elections.
“I’m humbled by the trust bestowed on me by the people of Epworth South constituency during the just ended primary elections. What I now wish for is political tolerance and peace as we get closer to elections. President Mnangagwa is always preaching peace and I implore all ZANU PF members to take heed of the President’s call for peace and tolerance,” said Cde Mutana.
Mutana added that there was no bad blood between him and two other candidates he contested against during the primary elections.
“There is no bad blood between me and Honourable Zalerah Makari and Cde Erick Pfumvuti. Cde Makari is my sister and Cde Pfumvuti is my brother. In the event that I win the elections, as I anticipate, I’m ready to work together with Cde Makari and other Epworth South stakeholders to develop our area,” added Cde Mutana.
Cde Mutana said that he had lined up a number of development activities for Epworth South and said that in the next five years, the constituency would be the envy of many people.
“Epworth will not remain the same. We are going to work with all like-minded people to turn Epworth into a modern town. I’m prepared to work every minute for the development of the constituency in line with President Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind in terms of development.
Meanwhile, last week Cde Mutana donated some food stuffs to the vulnerable people of Epworth South constituency. He said that he would continue assisting the people with food stuffs and other empowerment opportunities. Currently, Mutana’s funeral parlour in Epworth is assisting residents with funeral services at a low cost.
