President Emmerson Mnangagwa has echoed his vision to industrialise the country’s rural areas as Government commits more resources to the realization of this pipeline dream.
Writing in his weekly column President Mnangangwa mentioned that the move by the Second Republic to industrialise the rural areas is the right interchange towards the future.
“I am happy that our rural communities are already beginning to witness the start of industrialisation. This thrust must strengthen as we move into the future. Rural industrialisation should be the next greatest miracle Zimbabwe shows to, and shares with our African brethren,” said President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
President Mnangangwa further mentioned that rural communities, with the support from Government, should think of how to improve their livelihood through financial and technological advancements.
“A key question each community must ask itself with full support from our beloved Government approach is what can we do within our means and circumstances to create or add value to our communities and to our nation? Support financial, support technological, support by way of research and development and of course, support by way skills and markets for finished goods. Only that way do we live true to our mantra of leaving no one and no place behind,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangawa reiterated that rural industrialization is another way of lifting millions out of poverty and urged tertiary institutions to be involved in the same.
“China did no less and lifted millions out of poverty. Again, I expect more involvement of our tertiary institutions which must engage in purposeful community and local-resource based research for rural industrialisation,” said President Mnangangwa.
Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa continues to encourage the nation to focus on hard honest work as this will help in the attainment of Vision 2030.
