Bulilima West legislator and Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Deputy Minister, Cde Dingumuzi Phuti recently donated medical equipment to clinics in his constituency to enhance health service delivery.
Two health facilities in Bulilima district namely Lady Baring Hospital in Ndolwane Ward and Makhulela clinic in Makhulela Ward received one Blood Pressure (BP) testing machine and two glucometers each.
A glucometer is a device for measuring the concentration of glucose in the blood, typically using a small drop of blood placed on a disposable test strip, where a chemical reaction with glucose alters the electrical conductivity of the strip.
Handing over the donations last Tuesday on behalf of Cde Phuti, Bulilima West Development Officer, Nkosilathi Sibanda said the medical equipment was meant to ensure effective health service delivery in the two wards.
“We have been sent here by Cde Phuti who is our local MP to give you this equipment which he feels is of paramount importance in ensuring every villager enjoys the right to health care. A number of clinics from other wards have also benefited from such donations, thus as a constituency team, we will continue to work hard to ensure that everyone is well catered for,” said Sibanda.
Zanu PF Secretary for Women Affairs in Bulilima District, Cde Petronnela Masendu hailed Cde Phuti for being a listening legislator who is touching lives across the constituency. She added that Cde Phuti was doing things in line with President Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind in terms of development.
Meanwhile, Sithokozile Mlambo of Makhulela village thanked the ZANU PF legislator for the medical equipment and said that the donated equipment would go a long way in improving health delivery services in Bulilima.
