President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared 2023 as a year of promise.
Speaking during an interview recently, President Mnangagwa said 2023 is a year which shall be characterised by modernisation, industrialisation and rapid economic growth.
“The year 2023 holds so much promise for our nation. Focus will be on modernising, industrialising and growing our economy so that we attain our vision of becoming a prosperous and empowerment Upper Middle-Income Economy by 2030. This includes ensuring that we earn more from our natural and human resource endowment,” the President said.
President Mnangagwa also said Government intends to take advantage of the good rains and benefits from the engagement and re-engagement agenda.
“In this regard, the Second Republic will continue implementing measures to grow our economy, taking advantage of the good rains and the benefits accruing from the engagement and re-engagement agenda. Through unity of purpose and hard work, we are going to lift more of our people out of poverty and into prosperity, whilst leaving no one and no place behind,” he added.
The Second Republic continues to make giant leaps towards modernisation, industrialisation and in the creation of employment for the people.
Meanwhile, mega projects such as the Gwayi-Shangani will bring a permanent water solution to Bulawayo, Hwange Power Units 7 and 8 which is expected to add 600MW to the national grid are set to be commissioned in 2023, while the Harare-Beitbridge road which has reached more than 72% completion has opened 400km of its completed road to the public.
