The Miners Forum for Economic Development National Executive, Constance Muchoni has urged artisanal miners to register and vote for ZANU PF’s presidential candidate, President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the upcoming 2023 Harmonized General Elections.
Addressing representatives of artisanal miners in Chirumhanzu District yesterday, Muchoni implored them to make sure that a significant number of miners are registered so as to ensure that President Mnangagwa wins the 2023 Harmonized General elections.
“I am encouraging all artisanal miners to register and to vote for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the coming 2023 Harmonized General elections. Let us rally behind President Mnangagwa who was endorsed at the ZANU PF National People`s Congress. The majority party has spoken. I repeat, let us mobilize each other and register to vote our President Mnangagwa,” said Muchoni.
Muchoni announced the rebranding of Zimbabwe Artisanal Miners Association (ZAMA) to Miners Forum for Economic Development emphasizing the fact that the Forum`s directive remains the same and a continuation of ZAMA.
The Forum`s National Secretary for Youth Affairs, Taurai Chivhanga encouraged the youthful miners to remain united and work hard for the country in support of President Mnangagwa`s vision of a USD12 billion mining economy by 2023. He urged the youths to push for economic development and simultaneously extend President Mnangagwa`s Presidency in 2023 harmonized elections.
Meanwhile, the Forum`s Midlands Provincial Chairman, Kampeza Tambwari was issued some data collection forms and tasked to create a database of all artisanal miners across the Midlands Province highlighting those who are registered voters.
The ruling party`s four wings and its affiliate organizations are mobilising voters ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections. ZANU PF party has expressed confidence that it will surpass its target of five million votes.
