President Mnangagwa has reiterated that ZANU PF is the only party that has people at heart and said that the on-going 7th National People’s Congress would strengthen and rejuvenate the Party.
The President said this yesterday at the ZANU PF headquarters in the capital while addressing the Politburo session to mark the start of the Congress.
“We are a Party for the people and from the people, hence this 7th National People’s Congress must consolidate our intra-party unity and democracy towards the rejuvenation of our revolutionary Party, and also for the acceleration, modernisation and industrialisation of our country,” said President Mnangagwa.
The President added that the recent triumph in the just ended by elections shows that people are still in love with ZANU PF policies and said that the forthcoming elections would see ZANU PF romping to victory again.
“This (the by-elections) is a clear demonstration that our Party is unstoppable and victory is certain in the upcoming elections,” added the President.
The President further applauded the outgoing Politburo members for successfully concluding their terms which expired yesterday. He commended outgoing Politburo members for availing themselves for Party duties and working tirelessly towards fulfilment of the Party’s 2018 manifesto.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF national spokesperson, Cde Chris Mutsvangwa confirmed that all Party structures have endorsed President Mnangagwa as the Party’s candidate for 2023 presidential elections.
“The Women’s league, War veterans and the Youth have all chosen President Mnangagwa to represent us in the coming elections and in him we are confident to prosper,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
The Congress is running under the theme, “Building a prosperous Zimbabwe: Leaving No-one and no place behind” and is set to run until Saturday 29 October with over 3 500 delegates expected to grace the event.
