ZINARA gets new Board

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed new Board members at ZINARA and Airport Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ).

Announcing the ZINARA board members Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Felix Mhona expressed his optimism in light of tasks that his Ministry was undertaking ahead of Vision 2030.

“Today I am pleased to announce additional Board Members for ZINARA and the ACZ as we continue to revamp our parastatals to ensure that they contribute meaningfully to the national economy,” said Minister Mhona.

Making mention of the Board Chairman and his Deputy, Minister Mhona said, “Dr George Manaya is the new Chairman  for ZINARA and he is deputized by Ms Lizwe Bunu.

“Dr Manyaya’s appointment is with immediate effect while that of Ms Bunu is effective from 13 January 2022,” he said.

Other Board members included Alderman Naason Mudzara who was reappointed as a board member for ZINARA for the next 3 years, while Sinikiwe Gwatidzo will serve as ACZ’s company deputy chairperson for 3 years starting immediately.

Minister Mhona urged the new Board Members to hit the ground running, by ensuring that projects that need immediate attention are given priority.

“One of the key issues that the Board has to deal with immediately is the congestion at the tollgates and corporate governance issues at the institution,” said Minister Mhona.

Meanwhile people from all walks of life have welcomed the move and applauded the President for the new Board appointments, saying the reshuffle will discourage corruption and abuse of office.
