MDC Alliance credits the prevailing peace to President Mnangagwa

The MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa has credited the prevailing peace during this election period to President Mnangagwa.

The President has been in crusade calling for peace and tranquillity before, during and after the 2018 harmonised elections. He de-intoxicated the political field that had been poisoned by former president Robert Mugabe.

Violence characterised previous elections as supporters of different political parties were let lose to attack opponents. But this election is a different story all together.

Even the opposition that had been on record calling Zanu PF as obsessed with violence are now singing a different tune all together. During an MDC Alliance rally held yesterday held in Caledonia, Goromonzi South Constituency yesterday, its supporters were commenting the non- violence atmosphere at the venue.

Speaking to this publication, Peace Chenguwo of ward 25 remarked, “ED is a peace ambassador, he managed to preach peace. During Mugabe era, opposition wouldn’t hold such gatherings without havoc being caused by Zanu PF supporters.”

MDC Alliance aspiring National Assembly member for the constituency, Ruben Chikudo also commented the prevailing peace as a sign of a liberated country by the president.

He said it was unforeseen that the opposition would manage to finish such a rally before they were dispersed by youths from Zanu PF.

“Because of that I can now fancy my chances to parliament,” said Chikudo.  This is despite the fact that he faces a fierce competition from Zanu PF’s candidate, Petronella Kagonye who is also the incumbent.
