War against economic saboteurs will continue unabated until economic success is achieved.
This was said by President Mnangagwa during his address to the ZANU PF Central Committee members at the Party headquarters today.
“Reports on the state of economy and state of social services, among other aspects, detail the significant successes we have realised. Milestones have been reached to consolidate macro-economic stability. The war against saboteurs of economic development continues unabated, and they are being dealt with without fear or favour,” said the President.
The President commended Central Committee members for mobilising communities to participate in the Pfumvudza programme. He reiterated that the Land Reform programme was irreversible and the chapter was now behind.
President Mnangagwa implored Party members to take the lead in encouraging fellow citizens to get vaccinated so that the country could reach herd immunity. The President added that the Government will continue to avail vaccines to all people free of charge.
Turning to the issue of sanctions, President Mnangagwa said he welcomes the report by UN Special Rapporteur Ms Alena Douhan that sanctions should be unconditionally removed.
President Mnangagwa told Central Committee members that violence, political chicanery and divisive elements have no place in ZANU PF. He added that the New Dispensation will continue to focus on programmes that enhance dialogue, social cohesion and national unity. He further urged the Central Committee members to always preach love, peace and harmony and encourage hard work to ensure sustainable development in the country.
Turning to 2023 harmonised elections, the President said ZANU PF’s victory in the forthcoming elections is imperative. He said Party mobilisation and organisation should be focused and sharpened to achieve an overwhelming victory in 2023.
ZANU PF’s is holding its 19th National People’s Conference in Bindura, with other delegates following proceedings virtually from their respective provinces. The conference is being held under the theme, “Growing and modernising the economy towards Vision 2020”.
