Citizens have laughed off the formation of a new political party, Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), by former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu as a political joke and have since labelled Tsenengamu as “a confused young man who needs elderly guidance”.
People who spoke with this publication yesterday, said Tsenengamu should not be taken seriously as he was a political flip flopper who cannot be a political alternative to the people of Zimbabwe.
“This is a joke (the formation of the party). Tsenengamu is just an attention seeker who should just be ignored. I don’t think the people of Zimbabwe can have the audacity to entrust Tsenengamu with the leadership of anything, even a burial society,” said one Mary Kanocheni of Bindura.
Clifford Zengerani of Dotito said Tsenengamu was a political flip flopper who has failed to manage his own life.
“Tsenengamu is just a confused and over ambitious young man who needs elderly guidance. To prove to you that Tsenengamu is an unpopular confused man, he previously contested for ZANU PF primary elections in three constituencies, that is Rushinga, Mt Darwin West and Mt Darwin South, and he failed to garner meaningful votes in all his attempts. Tsenengamu should first be able to lead his own life before he thinks of leading a political party,” said Zengerani.
A resident of Mt Darwin who only identified himself as Katurira labeled Tsenengamu as a heartless man who has terrorized the people of Mt Darwin.
“The mention of the name Tsenengamu brings sad memories to the people of Mt Darwin. In 2008, Tsenengamu abused his position as the ZANU PF Mt Darwin District Youth Chairperson to terrorize anyone who was opposed to him. He extorted money from the business people and he made ZANU PF unpopular in Mt Darwin because of his violent and extortionist tendencies. A lot of young women were abused by Tsenengamu in Mt Darwin and I don’t think that such a heartless man can find any success in the Zimbabwean political field,” said Katurira.
Last year, Tsenengamu became the first member to be expelled under the New Dispensation for gross misconduct. In 2015, during the late former President Mugabe reign, he was also shown the exit door for attacking the ZANU PF leadership on social media and abusing party resources. He also had a flirt with Blessing Kasiyamhuru-led Zimbabwe Partnership for Prosperity (ZIPP) and was again expelled for causing divisions in that small party.
