Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) leader, Godfrey Tsenengamu, has launched a scathing attack on Nelson Chamisa, insisting that he was responsible for the suffering of ordinary Zimbabweans.
Speaking in Harare at the launch for his new party, Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), the outspoken Tsenengamu said MDC has never had Zimbabwean people at heart.
“The MDC and Nelson Chamisa are responsible for the suffering of the ordinary people in Zimbabwe.
“The MDC leaders, Chamisa and Biti are only concerned about their selfish interests. That's why their infighting never ends. They are not united by a common goal to serve the people. All they want is personal gains.”
The MDC has had numerous splits since it's formation in 1999 by Morgan Tsvangirai.
Several splinter groups have gone on to establish various small parties.
Of late, Tsenengamu said the Chamisa led MDC is fraught with factional fights threatening to further decimate the opposition party.
“They (MDC) are fighting again. They are consumed in their fight at the expense of their party structures which have been left to suffer.
“Zimbabwe must realise that the MDC is a self-serving party and join FEEZ for economic emancipation,” Tsenengamu said.
Only recently, Tendai Biti was involved in an ugly spate with International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank over economic outlook figures, claiming the international financial firms were being dishonest to say Zimbabwe was progressing.
Biti then wrote to IMF desperately trying to have the institution block Zimbabwe from benefiting from the US$650 billion global bailout package. Though Zimbabwe eventually got it's US$1 billion bite.
Political analyst, Ray Mwando said the newly launched party provided the electorate with an alternative ahead of the upcoming elections
“Its good and necessary for the electorate to have many differing alternatives come 2023, that’s what highlights democracy and political maturity in a nation,” he said.
