NGO warned against meddling in Zim politics

Provincial Development Coordinators from across the country have come out guns blazing echoing President Emmerson Mnangagwa who took a swipe at Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) which continue to meddle in the country’s political affairs while advancing the interests of western countries.

Speaking during a meeting with NGOs in Masvingo this week, Provincial Development Coordinator, Dr Jefter Sakupwanya, warned NGOs against politicising their programs by meddling in the internal affairs of this country.

He advised them to stick to their mandate stipulated in the MOUs, or they risk being deregistered.

“All NGOs are supposed to complement developmental initiatives being spear-headed by Government for the attainment of Vision2030. NGOs are supposed to have a mutual relationship with Government instead of pushing agendas of foreign governments,” Dr Sakupwanya said.

He further advised NGO operating in Masvingo Province to continue apprising Government of their activities and submit annual reports.

NGOs currently operating in Masvingo such appreciated the interface saying it will go a long way in fostering relationships between NGOs and Government stakeholders.

This is being done in all the 10 Provinces countrywide. Harare’s Provincial Development Coordinator, Tafadzwa Muguti recently had a meeting with the NGOs and delivered the same message.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa warned NGO who are wolves in sheep’s skin, pretending to represent the people’s interests while campaigning for the opposition political parties such as the MDC Alliance.

“Detractors, sell outs and their appendages must forever be silence at the 2023 Harmonised General Elections,” the President said.

NGOs have been used as appendages of Western countries for regime change as donations are funded through them.  The funds are directed to the opposition political parties to support their violent mass demonstrations and fake abductions so that elections can be discredited by the international community. Last election was disturbed by similar actions by the opposition with sponsorship from the NGOs, hence legitimacy issues were peddled soon after elections.
