President Emmerson Mnangagwa has encouraged ZANU PF members to guard jealously the party and to be alert on social media where Government detractors are destroying the image of the Government.
Speaking during the Ordinary Session of the Politburo meeting held today at the party’s Headquarters, President Mnangagwa said, “Going forward, all members across all structures must seek to reflect on our unassailable revolutionary character upon which we continue to build our country and the attainment of Vision 2030.Thus the entire leadership of the Party right from the cell level to Politburo must shoulder the responsibility to accelerate the broad and inclusive empowerment process of our people.”
“As exponents of our Party and its ideology, we must be alive to the clandestine machinations of our detractors, the G40 cabal and their sympathizers. This consortium is using social media, among other means to launch an onslaught on our country and Party.
“These perennial nay-sayers must be doomed to the political abyss once and for all and must never be allowed to succeed,” said the President.
President Mnangagwa applauded the organs of the Party, the youth, women and veterans of the struggle for their active determination to advance the Party aims and objectives. He urged them to continue mobilizing the members of the party to join and participate in the Party's activities, with strict adherence to Party principles rules, regulations and values.
He commented that the active participation of members and submissions of CVs to the DCC elections attests to the over-arching popularity of the ruling party.
“As such, the overwhelming response by prospective candidates shows that we are indeed a people’s Party. As DCC campaigns are underway, members must continue to conduct themselves in an orderly manner,” said the President.
He added that irregularities reported must be fairly and impartially addressed, as guided by our Party's Constitution.
“Equally uncouth behavior such as the imposition of candidates, vote buying and other electoral malpractices which divide the Party are not acceptable.
“I must reiterate that the quality of the candidates should correspond to the District Coordinating Committees we all envision as directed by the Party's People Annual National Conference of 2018,”said the President.
President Mnangagwa said that the fight against corruption both in the Party and in the country continues unabated.
“Gone are the days when members hide behind their status and abuse the name of the Party to propagate corruption. ZANU PF and this administration will never allow the Party to be a haven of malcontents and criminals,” he said.
President Mnangagwa urged members of the party to rally the nation on 25 October to call on America to lift the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
“The expression of solidarity by SADC Member States to our country cannot be overemphasized. The Anti-Sanctions Day declared by the Southern African Development Community is upon us.
“We must therefore rally the nation on the 25th of October 2020, to call upon Britain and America to unconditionally lift the imposed illegal sanctions,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa reiterated the economic milestones achieved as guided by the ZANU PF people’s manifesto.
He mentioned about the tour he did two days ago in Southerton and Msasa where manufacturing industry is making significant contributions towards the Gross Domestic Production and national export earnings.
He said the State Enterprises and Parastatals reform agenda remains priority.
President Mnangagwa urged party members to make use of the Pfumvudza program in this prevailing climate change.
“All leadership mobilise and organize people to implement the Presidential Climate Proofed Pfumvudza/Intwasa Program,” said the President.
President Mnangagwa emphasized to the party leadership to safeguard the Party’s ideology.
“Finally, Comrades let us continue to safeguard and promote the founding principles and ideology of our Party towards sustaining peace, unity and development,” said President Mnangagwa.
