The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) has partnered with Government to build a state of the art Agricultural College in Hurungwe in its quest to equip Zimbabweans with life skills that are desperately needed for the development of the country.
Announcing about this notable development on their Facebook page yesterday, The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services ,said the College will open its doors to prospective students in January next year.
“Zion Christian Church is constructing a state of the art Agricultural College in Hurungwe, Karoi. The College is expected to open its doors for the first intake in January 2021.The College will provide relief to thousands of school leavers in Hurungwe who for long have struggled to get tertiary places in other regions,” said the Ministry.
Commenting on this issue, one Kudakwashe Kamhutu commended the ZCC and said churches should spearhead development in communities and not to fan divisions.
“What the ZCC has done its commendable. Churches should not wait for the Government to do everything but must also chip in and assist with other projects. The church we know is the one that assist people in need, not those who fan divisions among the people,” said Kamhutu.
Lloyd Mutapa thanked President Mnangagwa for empowering indigenous churches as they are now assisting in the development of the country.
“This is why I like the Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa for empowering the indigenous churches. Recently, it was ZAOGA that built a state of the art university in Bindura and now its Nehemiah Mutendi and his ZCC building an agricultural college to equip the youths with self-reliance skills. I’m proud of our indigenous churches,” said Mutapa.
The church in Zimbabwe has been on the forefront providing education facilities to the people. In Zimbabwe ,there are many universities and colleges constructed by churches and these include among others, the Catholic University of Zimbabwe, Reformed Church University and Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University.
