President Emmerson Mnangagwa launched Africa Factbook at State House in Harare yesterday, in a bid to give the correct African narrative to the global world.
The President on his twitter handle said, “For too long, the global narrative surrounding Africa has been one of a continent in constant crisis. It is our duty as citizens of this great nation to set the record straight. That is why I was delighted to launch the ‘Africa Factbook’ earlier today.”
President Mnangagwa also said that for the first time Africa can now tell its story from an African perspective.
“For the first time, we are able to tell the story of Africa from an African perspective. This document highlights our continent’s shared struggle for liberation as well as our triumphs as a people throughout our long and illustrious history,” he said.
The Harare Post has learnt the Africa Factbook was put up together in line with the African Union’s Pan African Vision Agenda 2063.
The launch of the book has also happened at a time when the South African ANC delegation arrived in the country and agreed together with ZANU PF to once more come back to meet, Dr Simba Makoni, ZAPU, Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, MDC-Alliance and United States Of America Ambassador to Zimbabwe after their requests to meet them.
