MDC Alliance continues to unleash violence despite Government efforts in encouraging peaceful elections.

In a recent incident, 50 MDC Alliance youths from Mkoba 6,Gweru in the company of their local authority candidate, Jefta Zvidzai assaulted Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Nyadzonya Branch, Ticharwa Ngambura last Thursday.

The group accused Ngambura of pulling down MDC Alliance posters. The group is said to have approached Ngambura who was having a drink at Mkoba shopping Centre and attacked him with sticks and some even went to the extent of fighting him using their fists, accusing Ngambura of pulling down their posters.

Ngambura, who later managed to flee the scene, went to report the matter to the police and is denying the accusations. He is saying that the MDC Alliance is against ZANU PF and attacks anyone they know is a threat to them during the 2018 harmonised elections.

In a similar incident, an MDC Alliance member, Ephrage Gwavava assaulted a ZANU PF member, Charles Sixpence for the same accusations.

MDC Alliance is now on the top in causing fear and despondency to the public.

It also formed a terrorist group called the Vanguards. Initially the group was meant to discredit Thokozane Khupe in a succession war within the MDC T in support of Nelson Chamisa. The Vanguard group had to light fire on a hut that Dr Khupe and other MDC T members who had sought refuge at Tsvangirai`s burial.

Analysts said the MDC Alliance has failed to solve their internal disputes amicably and is now extending its fury to ZANU PF supporters.

In a recent survey, the Zimbabwe Peace Project recorded 24 cases of intraparty political violence and 22 cases were from within the MDC.

On the other hand, President Mnangagwa is always preaching peace and fair elections. To add to that, 23 presidential candidates signed a peace pledge, binding them to a code of conduct compelling them to campaign peacefully. However, the MDC is failing to abide to all these measures.
