ED lives up to his pledge of injecting more youth in cabinet

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fulfilled the pledge that he made during a recently held youth interface, of balancing his Cabinet by appointing more youths.

His appointment of youths and women has been applauded by citizens who say it will provide an opportunity for diversified ideas and views in the Cabinet.

Kudzai Mtisi, a prominent twitter activist commended the President for appointing youthful Ministers and deputy Ministers. Mutisi said that, “The President indeed did exceptionally well in bringing in the Youth as Ministers and Deputy Ministers. But those Youths shouldn't disappoint. So far all the Youthful Ministers have nothing to show for their Youthfulness. They must deliver or go elsewhere.”

Zimbabweans from all walks of life have also welcomed the Cabinet reshuffle, saying the youthful Ministers are poised to turnaround the fortunes of the country’s economy.

One netizen, Tafadzwa Nazvo, tweeted that, “Two newly-appointed Cabinet ministers who were sworn in yesterday are eager to turnaround the economy by reviving the construction and information communication and technology industries, as well as ensuring affordable telecommunications tariffs.”

Dr Jenfan Muswere has been promoted to Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister, while Cde Dingimuzi Phuti was appointed as his Deputy.

Norton Independent legislator, Temba Mliswa congratulated the new appointees on his twitter handle saying, “Congratulations to Hon. Marian Chombo! She works hard as well as do Hon (Nqobizitha) Ndhlovu, Hon. (Paul) Mavhima and Hon. (Daniel) Garwe who is well placed as an engineer. Hon. (Tinoda) Machakarika will do well in Youth, good move, he will drive the youth agenda.”
